Road Work In Quarryville

Just thought we'd let people know that getting around Quarryville for
the next week or so will not be fun. They are milling and paving State
St and currently there is no parking in front of the store and no access
to the driveway beside the store either. They are also paving sections
of Fourth St. We of course have lots of parking beside the store and in
the back as well. No problem getting here as long as you know where they
are working.

Just Got back From Expo East

If you tried to come into the store over the past few days you certainly
noticed our shortened erratic hours. With our reduced staff we figure
that shortened hours are better than none, but we do apologize none the
less if we caused you any inconvenience.
That was because as we do every year we attend Expo East which is the
Natural Products industries' biggest exposition and show held in the
East. This show is one of the places that we find all the unique
products that you continue to see on our shelves and we try not to miss
it. It's three very exhausting days for us but well worth the effort as
you will see.
Boy did we find a lot of new, unique and exciting products. They will be
hitting the store over the next couple of weeks so if you haven't
already planned to do so, be sure to stop in to see all that's new.
We'll post info here as each new item arrives, so stay tuned.

Hemp History Week

We'd just like to make you aware of Hemp History Week from June 4 - 10. The United States is one of the only nations in the world where farmer's are prohibited from growing industrial hemp. Growing hemp is part of US History and is a crop that offers farmer's and consumers a myriad of options. Please check out the website www.votehemp.com and urge your legislators to support the growing of hemp in the US.

Happy April

Not only is this the first business day of April it's also the day we send our E-mail blast. About once a month, sometimes more, we send out information about what's going on in the store, new merchandise, etc. If you aren't signed up you can go to our website at solanco.com and sign up. Hover over the SGMC Home main menu option and choose E-mail Blast Sign up. You can also request to be added to the e-mail list when you are in the store. We never share you information and you can unsubcribe at any time. Many times we include discounts that are first available to those on our list or that are exclusive to those on our list. So if you aren't signed up already, why not?
We started handing out the April/May Newsletter in the store today. You can also get it on the website. Under the same SGMC Home menu option you will find a newsletter option. Choose the current edition. Enjoy the newsletter.

Large Selection of Oval Frames

We have provided quality custom picture framing for 35 years and along with a large selection of mouldings that we can make into rectangular frames we have also provided oval options as well. The great news is that we now have a larger selection of oval frame options and can actually show you samples of the curved mouldings just like the straight mouldings.
There are many things that really look good in an oval frame and now we can offer you a larger selection than ever. Come check them out for yourself and don't forget to bring your items that you want to frame with you.

Maybe a Solution to Your Skin Issue

Customers have had great success using Grandpa's Pine Tar soap for skin issues like poison ivy, eczema, puppp syndrome. We have recently added Grandpa's Pine Tar Shower & Skin Gel and their Pine Tar Shampoo in addition to the bar soap. If you have issues with your skin be sure not to over look Grandpa's Pine Tar Soap as a solution.

Did you know we have clock movements?

We had two people in a row in today for clock movements. The first was a high school student who was completing a mantel clock for a shop class that needed a clock movement, hands and numerals for her new clock and the second was someone who needed to replace a malfunctioning movement in an old clock.
We stock mini quartz clock movements that take 1 'AA' alkaline battery. We stock six different movements with the only difference being the length of the shaft which accommodates different thicknesses of clock faces. If is always best to bring the old movement with you so that we can get you a new movement with correct shaft length and also make sure your old hands fit the new movement. Just one more thing you maybe didn't know we had.

We stock Organic Coconut Oil

If you've read our last newsletter you'll notice information in this month's It's Your Health column is on coconut oil and all the uses and benefits it has. It should be obvious that we stock pure organic coconut oil but we figured it was worth letting you know anyhow.

Did you know we have fixative?

Since we just got an order of art material supplies into today, I though I would remind you that we sell different fixative sprays that are designed for media like chalk, pencils and pastels that tend to smudge if you don't apply something to the surface like a fixative. Remember we have a whole slew of other art materials as well.

Our new blog

This is not our first blog. It is however our latest attempt at trying to find an easy way to 'blog', i.e.keep you up-to-date on all that's SGMC and at the same time not cluttering up the SGMC main webpage. So here it is the new blog. We are going to try to regularly add information about us and the products and the services that we currently carry and all the new and exciting products that arrive almost daily.
